PU students to travel to China on scholarships

LAHORE: (Monday, August 22, 2011): Under the patronage of the Chief Minister Punjab, Punjab University has signed an addendum on 17-05-2010 to the MoU previously signed. By virtue of this addendum bother universities established collaboration on the fields of research and students exchange.

During the visit of the Chinese delegation, both universities offered 2 scholarships to each other. The scholarships received by the Punjab University went to Sami Aman Ullah and Bushra Hanif of Chinese Language Diploma at the Institute of Languages.

The Director External Linkages and the Institute of Languages Incharge Maria Isabel Maldonado, managed all the communication and the proceedings of the student’s documents so they can travel to China before September 15, 2011.

The magnificient scholarships cover tuition fee, text books fee and living allowance. In addition, they will receive 1700 RMB per month plus a one-time amount of 1500 RMB to buy articles of everyday use.

It is an achievement for PU to have established such collaboration with China with the assistance of the Chief Minister.
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has expressed his immense pleasure to the students and to Maria Maldonado.
